Day 326 Andorra

andorra

I took a Blablacar and reached Andorra in the early afternoon thanks to George, the wonderful driver. He regularly visits Andorra la Valle on business and after he had conducted his we went for a coffee.  I didn't have any plans and George invited me to go house hunting with him outside of the city after visiting a very strange wholesale outlet where you can buy weird and wonderful duty free goods including distilling equipment; I've never seen so much copper.  Andorra is a very peculiar landlocked microstate and you can fit the entire population inside Wembley Stadium and walk across its capital in under 30 minutes! This picture was taken at the tallest building in the country which stands at 80m! If you look carefully you can see me.

Late in the evening I donned my headlamp and ascended the valley on a narrow winding footpath until I found a slightly hidden but flat piece of land on the side of the city to pitch my tent. In the dank sods I saw a small black and yellow figure heaving it's body down the slope and when I shone my light on it I saw it was a Fire Salamander!
