Day 458-464 Brighton

Illness set in. It’s pretty rare for me to contract some nastiness but it was winter and I was due for a smack-down from Mother Nature.  The answer was clear, to bake a big batch of flapjacks; for my American friends they are not like pancakes!!! For my Australian comrades they closely resemble an Anzac biscuit. Flapjacks are a mixture of oats, brown sugar, golden syrup and butter lovingly mixed together and baked for around 30 minutes at 180°c / 355°F for a slight crunch or 20-25 minutes if you prefer them chewy; I like chewy. Just imagine, a mixture of carbs, fat and sugar - glorious. Throw some dried fruit into the mix and you’ve got yourself a pleasant evening masticating.

On bed rest I began searching for a new camera as my compact had bit the dust a month previous. I wanted to upgrade before my impending trip behind the Iron Curtain; the big question was: DSLR or mirrorless?  I opted for mirrorless. I wanted a large sensor but not quite full frame and landed on an APS-C. It was very exciting researching different models and choosing my new companion that would eventually capture sights that I didn’t know exist yet.
