Day 398 Pula - Rovinj - Koper, Slovenia

Whilst walking to the station a car stopped and someone called my name.  It was our host from Rovinj! It was an extraordinary coincidence that our couchsurfing host had found us whilst driving to work in Pula. Our plans changed and we didn't spend the night in Rovinj; my new companions had classes in the week so we pressed on for Koper.

Although on the rainy side, Rovinj is a lovely coastal town and a great place for a quiet summer vacation.

Fitting eight people into a six person minivan, we crossed the border for Koper.  This area has changed hands numerous times between the Germanic Franks, Eurasian Avars, the Republic of Venice, the list goes on; it's a very interesting place, particularly the architecture.
