This would be the last day I saw Mario on the Camino; I stopped in Salas whilst he carried on for another 10km. The town was empty and it turned out it was the annual celebration for Santuario de la Virgen de la Asuncion del Viso, the patron of Salas, and the entire town’s people had gone to the temple to celebrate. This meant climbing the hill to join the fiesta!
